Rev. Dr. Danny Spears - Pastor

Ian Tiele - Administrative Assistant/Covenant Editor/Webmaster

Pastor Danny joined the community of HCMCC as its Pastor July 30th, 2007. In 1974, he left the Apostolic Pentecostal tradition in which he was raised, and joined MCC in 1981. Danny was ordained as MCC clergy in November 2001, and served as Pastor of MCC Corpus Christi from December 2001 until July 2007.

Danny embraces what may be called a "Progressive Evolutionary Christian Spirituality", which emphasizes the non-coercive presence of Spirit in all levels of creation; and he believes our understanding of God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit evolves over time as we learn more about the interconnectedness of all creation (both human and other-than-human).

Danny holds a Master's of Divinity degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and is a candidate in its Doctor of Ministry program, as well. As his free time allows, Danny enjoys cycling, yoga, and cooking. He and his husband, Richard, live in Brookfield with their three cats, Powder, Tony, and Cleo.

Ian became Holy Covenant's Administrative Assistant in October 2005 and has lived in Brookfield since August 2002, when he moved from his native England. He is married to Stacey and has a wonderful greyhound dog named Max. Ian lives just a few blocks from the church.

As well as his general office duties, Ian puts together and edits the Covenant newsletter and weekly mailings, organizes the church's annual May Walk-A-Thon and is webmaster for this website.

In his spare time, Ian is President and Treasurer of the local Brookfield Jazz Society, which he founded and is Convention Committee Chair, Treasurer and Webmaster for the International Association of Jazz Record Collectors. His other interests include pinball machines (of which he owns three)  and collecting toby jugs.

Greg has been providing music services to Holy Covenant since 1998. His responsibilities include accompanying worship services on the churches Kurzweil keyboard, while simultaneously leading all songs vocally.

Greg earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from the University of Florida in 1979. He has served in a number of music positions with other churches, ranging from MCC to the Churches of Christ. Greg’s spiritual background also includes the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and the Congregational Church. The variety in his experience is evident in his musical sensibility, choice of solo material and liturgical music styles.

Greg Petit - Staff Musician

Greg continues by day to enjoy a long career in sales and marketing with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield organization. On top of that, he is creative director for Greg Petit Design, Inc. providing interior design and music programming to his clients. Greg is partnered with Steve Mance and is an involved dad to his three adult children from an earlier marriage. Greg enjoys days spent on his pontoon boat and is also active in the Lambda Car Club. When time permits, he records albums of his musical performances, compositions and arrangements.
