Social Action Committee (SAM)

Function of the Social Action Ministry
The purpose of the Social Action Ministry (SAM) is to enable our church family to celebrate Christ’s call to reach out to others by teaching our congregants that our faith mandates action, and to provide the church with various social action opportunities in the areas of compassion and human rights. Through social action, we recognize that we are engaged in not only in worship weekly, but also in the neighborhood locally and globally.

The current Social Action Ministry team are:

Meg  Lestina (Night Ministry Outreach: Pilsen)

Night Ministry Outreach: Pilsen
The next Pilsen outreach is on Thursday, December 29th, when the menu will be beef stew (from the McCormick seasoning packet), ham sandwiches, cookies and chips. If you are interested in participating or donating items or your time, please sign-up here or contact  Meg Lestina at 630-244-2689 (email: meglestina@hotmail.com).

St. Barbara's Food Pantry
On the first Sunday of every month – as part of our Loaves & Fishes ministry – the people of Holy Covenant MCC make donations of food and toiletries to St. Barbara’s Church (Brookfield) Food Pantry.  If you would like to participate in this important outreach of our church, please bring your donations to Fellowship Hall. Soup, peanut butter, oatmeal, flour, shampoo, shaving cream, tooth paste – all items are welcomed and needed.  As you shop for your own household this week, why not pick up a couple items for donation to people who need your help?
