About Holy Covenant
Holy Covenant MCC is an open and affirming Christian community of faith that has been serving the Chicagoland area for over 30 years. We celebrate the call of the Bible to embody the spirit of hospitality. It is in this spirit that we welcome people of all genders, races, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, and socio-economic means to participate in the full life and ministry of Holy Covenant.

It is in this spirit that we especially welcome you to attend one of our worship services. We have two Sunday services; one at 9:00 a.m., and one at 11:00 a.m. Also, you cannot beat the food and conversation during our social fellowship between services, and following the 11:00 a.m. worship!

Holy Covenant also provides many services to the Community such as Weddings, Holy Unions, Baptisms etc. Our building is available for rent to use for parties, dances, anniversaries, conferences or business meetings etc. If you are interesting in renting our facility please call the church or email ian@holycovenantmcc.org.
Our Core Values

Through study and prayer the following have been revealed as the essential characteristics of Holy Covenant MCC.  They reflect who we are and the gifts of life we offer.  We commit ourselves to living out and growing  in these Core Values.
Community:
We provide a healthy environment that affirms the dignity of the individual – regardless of sexual orientation or gender presentation – while creating and fostering common bonds.  We demonstrate this value most clearly around the Eucharistic Table and the Table of Fellowship.  These tables – open to all – nurture us emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually.  Around these tables we form new friendships, create family, share our joys and concerns, explore our commonalities and differences, and address each others’ needs.  We appreciate the opportunities to give of ourselves and receive from others.
Hospitality:
We offer a safe space respecting the personal sensitivities of all people in a welcoming and accepting atmosphere.  We intentionally receive those who are not part of our community.  They are warmly greeted, encouraged to fully participate, embraced as a unique individual created in the image of God, and invited to become part of this Body of Christ.  Our ministries make no distinction between members, friends, visitors, or guests in extending the blessings we receive.
Outreach:
As agents of God our ministries extend beyond this congregation and church building.  In response to Christ’s call we give our time, talents, and treasures while demonstrating our faith to the larger community.  We are especially concerned with those who are marginalized, particularly sexual and gender minorities.  We strive to alleviate their suffering through both direct action and support of organizations that share our concerns.  We boldly celebrate our identity as God’s children, empowering ourselves and all people to live with dignity in the full assurance of God’s love.

Active Faith:
Our Christian faith lies at the center of our identity and guides all we do.  It determines how we live in Community, how we show Hospitality, and how we offer Outreach to the world.  We deepen our faith through individual and communal spiritual practices such as worship, study, prayer, fellowship, witness, and ministry.  We believe that faith increases as people become personally involved and offer diverse avenues for such involvement. Through our participation in faith we foster a greater sense of belonging and strengthen the ‘ties that bind’ us to God and each other.
